TalkTrac is a small and practical communicator that can be worn like a wristwatch. It is ideal for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders as an aid in social communication, with family and friends, and for recording schedules, lists of things to remember, things to do, and the like.
TalkTrac has excellent sound quality, and the volume can be adjusted to two levels. It is durable and compact, and most importantly, it is easy to carry with you everywhere.
Appearance of the device
TalkTrac has four fields on the front, into which interchangeable templates can be inserted , on which text can be written or images can be placed that describe the message the field contains. The fields are 1.3 x 1.8 cm in size, and by pressing them it is easy to listen to or record messages. You will also receive blank templates in the package.
The volume can be changed by simultaneously pressing the first and fourth fields, and simultaneously pressing the second and fourth fields will change the recording level.
Recording and listening to messages
Eight messages can be stored on the TalkTrac , and it has two levels. Four messages can be recorded at each level. The total recording time is 80 seconds.
To record a message, press and release the button on the side of the device. While the red recording light flickers, press and hold the field you want to record a message on and speak it. When you press and release the record button again, it is off. To listen to a recorded message, simply press and release the field it is on.
Batteries and accessories
The TalkTrac communicator has a rechargeable battery. We recommend that you charge it every night so that the device is always ready for use. The weight of the device with the battery is 59.5 g. You can order an additional strap with TalkTrac, and it can be replaced with standard straps that are placed around the arm.
